Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the text extraction?

It depends heavily on the source image. Clear, high-resolution scans of printed text extract cleanly; low-resolution photos, handwriting, unusual fonts, or skewed angles reduce accuracy. We don't publish a fixed accuracy figure since results vary by image.

Do I need an account or a subscription?

Universal PDF requires a Pro subscription. One subscription unlocks every tool on the site, cancel anytime.

Can I extract text from a scanned PDF instead of an image?

This tool is built for single images. If you have a scanned or image-only PDF, use OCR PDF instead. It applies the same OCR process to every page of a PDF and returns a searchable document.

Is my image safe?

Your files are encrypted and stay in your account — delete them anytime. Your image uploads over an encrypted connection, and we don't read, index, or share the contents of files you convert.
