Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account or a subscription?

Universal PDF requires a Pro subscription. One subscription unlocks every tool on the site, cancel anytime. JPG, PNG, WebP and PDF conversions run on your device; TIFF, BMP, GIF, ICO, AVIF targets and HEIC photos upload over an encrypted connection and convert.

Why can't I select every format for my file?

The picker disables formats that don't apply: you can't convert a file to the format it's already in, and HEIC photos can only convert to JPG or PNG, one file at a time, since browsers can't decode HEIC directly.

Can I convert several images at once?

Yes, for the browser-based formats (JPG, PNG, WebP, PDF). Select multiple files and they convert together, packaged as a ZIP unless you're combining them into one PDF. Server-side formats like TIFF and HEIC process one file per conversion.

Will image quality change during conversion?

Converting between lossy formats like JPG and WebP re-encodes the image and can introduce minor quality loss, especially at low source quality. Converting to PNG or TIFF is lossless. Transparency is preserved for formats that support it and dropped when converting to JPG.
