Terms of Service
Effective date: July 19, 2026
The service
Universal PDF provides online tools for working with PDFs and other files: converting, editing, merging, compressing, signing and more. Many tools run entirely in your browser; others process files server-side after an encrypted upload. A small number of tools use artificial intelligence: for those, extracted text or audio is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate the result, and a Pro subscription is required to use them. All of this is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the service you agree to these terms.
Company information
Universal PDF is operated by Villerise Ltd, Company No. 15768976, registered in England & Wales. You can reach us at support@universalpdf.com or +44 020 8092 2427.
Acceptable use
You may not use Universal PDF to process, store, or distribute content that is illegal, or to infringe anyone else's rights. You are responsible for the files you process and for having the right to use them. You also agree not to abuse, overload, or attempt to disrupt the service.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use Universal PDF.
File limits
Files are limited to 100 MB each. We may adjust limits over time; the current limit is always shown in the tool.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is." While we work hard to make conversions accurate, file conversion is inherently imperfect and we do not guarantee that any output will exactly match the original or be fit for a particular purpose. Always review converted files before relying on them.
Subscriptions
Paid plans start with a 7-day trial for $1.00, then cost $49.99 per month. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime through the billing portal in your account; cancellation stops future charges and your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
Right to cancel (UK & EU consumers)
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you normally have 14 days to change your mind about something you buy online, without giving a reason. Because Universal PDF gives you access to a paid digital service straight away, when you start your trial you ask us to begin that service immediately and you accept that you lose this 14-day right to cancel once your access has begun.
If you have not started using the service yet, you can still withdraw within 14 days — just email support@universalpdf.com and tell us you want to cancel. We will refund what you paid, using your original payment method, within 14 days.
This does not affect your other rights under consumer law, or your right to cancel your subscription at any time as described in our Refund Policy.
Refunds
If something went wrong with a charge, email support@universalpdf.com and we will review refund requests case by case.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Universal PDF and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including data loss, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
