How do I use Image Editor?

Drop your image into the box above. JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF files open instantly in the editor.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a subscription to use the editor?

Yes, a Pro subscription is required. One subscription unlocks every tool on the site, cancel anytime, and no watermarks are ever added to your work.

Is my image uploaded while I edit?

No. Decoding, editing and exporting happen on your device, so your image stays with you. The one exception is the optional Remove background tool, which uploads the image over an encrypted connection and processes it online.

What formats can I open and save?

You can open JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame), BMP and AVIF images. When you're done, export as PNG, JPG or WebP. JPG and WebP include a quality setting so you can trade sharpness for a smaller file.

Can I add a watermark?

Yes. The Watermark tool adds a text or logo image watermark. Type your text or upload a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG logo, pick an opacity, and it lands centered on the image where you can move and resize it before exporting.

Can I undo mistakes?

Yes. Press Ctrl+Z to undo any edit and Ctrl+Y to redo it. Crops, resizes, drawings and text can all be stepped back. The original file on your device is never modified, so nothing is permanent until you export.
