Frequently asked questions

Does this convert scanned drawings too?

This tool works best on PDFs exported directly from CAD software, where lines and text are vector data. A scanned or photographed drawing is a raster image with no underlying geometry to extract, so results will be far less accurate. Redrawing in CAD is usually more reliable for scans.

Do I need an account or a subscription?

Will layers and dimensions carry over?

Basic line work and text generally transfer, but PDF has no concept of CAD layers, blocks, or dimension objects, so those often flatten into plain geometry. Expect to reorganize layers and reapply dimensioning in your CAD software after import.

What DXF version does the output use?

The exported file uses a widely-supported DXF version compatible with current AutoCAD releases and most other CAD tools. If your software requires a specific older version, check its import settings after opening the file.
