Shrink animated GIFs while keeping them animated. Files up to 100MB.
Compress GIF shrinks animated GIFs using gifsicle's strongest optimization with lossy compression and a reduced 128-color palette. Typical savings are 30–70% with the animation intact. Files up to 100MB.

Typical savings are 30–70% depending on the source. GIFs with large flat-color areas, few colors or repeated frames compress best; photographic or very noisy GIFs sit at the lower end of that range.
We run gifsicle at its highest optimization level (-O3) with lossy compression and reduce the palette to 128 colors. That combination trims redundant frame data and shrinks each frame's color table while keeping motion smooth.
For most GIFs the difference is hard to spot: the 128-color palette and lossy pass mainly remove detail your eye doesn't track in motion. If a GIF is still too large afterwards, converting it to MP4 gives far bigger savings.
