Repair PDF

Fix a corrupted or damaged PDF that won't open.

Repair PDF rebuilds a broken PDF so it opens again. It reconstructs the file's internal structure and cross-reference table, recovering as much of the original content as possible; badly damaged files are re-processed through a second engine that rebuilds them from scratch. Some content in a severely corrupted file may be unrecoverable, but this fixes the common cases: files that download half-broken, error out with 'failed to load', or open blank. Your file travels over an encrypted connection.

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of damage can this fix?

The common ones: a broken cross-reference table (the index a viewer uses to find pages), a truncated or partially downloaded file, and structural corruption that makes a PDF error out or open blank. It rebuilds the file so a viewer can read it again.

Will I get all my content back?

Usually, yes. Structural damage is recovered without touching the content. If the file is severely corrupted, some pages or elements may be missing from the recovered copy, because the data itself was lost before you uploaded it, not by the repair. It recovers everything that is still there.

Is my original file changed?

No. You upload a copy and download a new, repaired version. The file on your device is untouched, so nothing is lost if the repair cannot recover everything.

Do I need a subscription to repair PDFs?
