VAC Form 930 is the Veterans Independence Program (VIP) client reimbursement claim. Clients who have been approved for VIP services use it to claim back eligible expenses they paid out of pocket, in line with the arrangements Veterans Affairs Canada set out in their approval.

The 930 is a dynamic XFA PDF. Browsers and most PDF tools show a placeholder page instead of the form, so download the official file from this page and open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader on a computer. My VAC Account, the VAC online portal, is the alternative for handling much of this business electronically.

What VAC Form 930 is used for

The form lets an approved VIP client itemize expenses and ask Veterans Affairs Canada to reimburse the eligible portion. Which expenses qualify depends on the services approved in your VIP decision, and VAC pays some VIP elements in other ways, such as arrangements paid in advance.

A typical claim includes:

  • Your identification and VAC file number
  • The service or expense being claimed and the dates it covers
  • The amounts paid and who provided the service
  • Receipts or proof of payment where required

Who uses VAC Form 930

The form is for veterans and other clients, including former RCMP members in applicable programs, who already receive Veterans Independence Program benefits and paid for an eligible service themselves.

If you have not yet applied for VIP, start with VAC Form 1145AP, the program application. The 930 only applies once VAC has approved services for you.

How to fill out VAC Form 930

Open the downloaded PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader and complete the claim carefully:

  • Enter your personal details and VAC file number so the claim matches your record
  • List each expense with dates, amounts, and the provider's details
  • Attach the receipts or invoices your approval letter or the form asks for
  • Print the form, then sign and date the declaration before sending it

How to submit the claim

Send the signed claim and supporting receipts to Veterans Affairs Canada using the submission details on the current version of the form and the VAC website. Registered users can also manage VIP business through My VAC Account.

Keep copies of receipts and the completed claim. If a claim is returned or partially paid, VAC's decision letter explains why and what to do next.

Frequently asked questions

The 930 is an XFA dynamic PDF, a format browsers and most PDF viewers cannot render, so they display a please wait placeholder. Save the file to your computer and open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader to access the actual claim form.
