GIF Editor

Edit GIF frames, timing and size in your browser, or start from a video and turn it into a GIF.

GIF Editor is an online editor for animated GIFs with full frame-level control: a frame timeline lets you reorder, duplicate and delete frames and set each frame's delay, while one-click tools reverse the animation, change its speed, rotate, flip, resize and crop it. You can also drop in an MP4, WebM or MOV video and edit it as a GIF, download the result as a GIF, or split every frame into a ZIP of images. A live preview plays the animation as you edit, and editing happens on your device, so your file stays with you.

Comment utiliser GIF Editor ?

  1. 1

Drop a GIF or a video (MP4, WebM, MOV) into the box above. GIFs decode instantly; videos are sampled into frames on your device and start playing in the live preview.

  2. 2

Edit the animation: rotate, flip, resize or crop from the toolbar, reverse it or change its speed, and use the frame strip to reorder, duplicate or delete frames and fine-tune each frame's delay in milliseconds.

  3. 3

Click Download GIF to save the edited animation, or Download frames (ZIP) to export every frame as a numbered PNG.

Questions fréquentes

Do I need a subscription to use the editor?

Yes, a Pro subscription is required. One subscription unlocks every tool on the site, cancel anytime, and no watermarks are ever added to your work.

Is my file uploaded while I edit?

GIFs and most videos are decoded and edited on your device, so they stay with you. The one exception is a video format your browser can't play (MKV or AVI, for example): those upload over an encrypted connection and are converted to GIF first, and the editing itself still happens locally.

Can I turn a video into a GIF?

Yes. Drop an MP4, WebM or MOV straight into the editor: the first 24 seconds are sampled at 10 frames per second, scaled to a GIF-friendly size, and opened in the frame timeline where you can trim frames, adjust timing and download the result as a GIF.

How do I change the speed of a GIF?

Use the Speed tool for one-click presets from 0.25x to 3x, or edit any frame's delay in milliseconds directly in the frame strip. Apply a delay to all frames at once, or reset everything back to the original timing.

Can I extract the frames of a GIF?

Yes. Download frames (ZIP) exports every frame of the edited animation as a numbered PNG, in the current frame order and with your edits applied.

Can I undo mistakes?

Yes. Press Ctrl+Z to undo any edit, including frame and timing changes, and Ctrl+Y to redo. The original file on your device is never modified, so nothing is permanent until you download.
